Hilton Sukhumvit

Our first week in Bangkok was spent at the newly opened Hilton Sukhumvit and we enjoyed every minute of it, we normally stay on the ‘other side of the river’ at the Millennium Hilton and whilst we love the riverside location and have no complaints, we wanted to try somewhere different.

Using the Airport Link train to Phaya Thai and then the BTS to Phrom Phong was a fast and simple way from the airport taking around 30 minutes – use Exit 4 at Phrom Phong and the hotel is a 5 minute walk away.

Upon arrival we were taken to the Executive Lounge to check in and met by Lilly who is the Executive Floor Manager – she was amazing from start to finish and made our stay special. We were allocated a lovely room and she took extra care to ensure we were looked after even arranging for the chef to personally speak to us therefore ensuring there were no issues at breakfast, or indeed in the lounge.

The hotel was quiet due to #BangkokShutdown meaning breakfast was only served at the Scalini Restaurant but this was fine with us – a great selection of fresh fruit with Asian and western options meaning there was plenty to choose from.

Love the regular pool guests at Hilton Sukhumvit!

We didn’t make use of the 24 hour gym but we did use the rooftop pool although it was VERY cold due to getting no sunlight and even had a sculpture of us on poolside 🙂

However, the view from the roof was awesome and did benefit from an amazing sunset!

As hotel guests you could also use the pool in the adjoining Doubletree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur which was bathed in sun and glorious – they even brought us frozen fruit ice pops to cool down.

We enjoyed the lounge most nights which had a relaxed feel to it with plenty of space and an outside area. The hot snacks in the evening were tasty and plentiful as was the bubbly and cold Chang. We were even lucky enough to help the staff with a cocktail making training session by offering to sample their creations!

All in all it was a fantastic stay and made our first week in Asia extra special – this is now officially our favourite Hilton property in Bangkok.

Thanks to all of the staff Hilton Sukhumvit and to @HiltonHHonors for making it possible and extra special thanks to Lilly for being a wonderful host!
