Raw Vegan Cake, My Love, Love, Love Relationship

Ok so we’re back in Ubud and despite my previous post declaring my love hate relationship with this iconic Bali destination I’m now entirely in love with it. Entirely and absolutely head over heels in love with it.

In addition to being back at the lovely at Lodtunduh Sari we spent some time visiting a few old haunts just to double check for example that the tempe curry at Fair Warung Bale (great food and a great cause) really is the best in Bali (it is).

The Nasi Campur at 9 Warung is still tasty and as good value for money as we remembered (it is)

The main reason for my now gushing feelings of love for Ubud though are that we at the Vegan Food Quest have discovered the delights of Alchemy.

Thes place is seriously good…

The salad bar at Alchemy

Alchemy is the stuff that my vegan dreams about Ubud are made of and I can’t believe we missed it on our first visit. There are no expensive, stingy portions here, just big fat helpings of raw vegan goodness. It’s a very exciting place for me, not only for the amazing salads who’s ingredients you can select yourself from the huge salad bar which has everything from dehydrated courgette croutons to raw pad Thai in sesame dressing, not only for the super fresh and lively juices which are so packed full of flavour that every sip is blissful.

Raw vegan cake heaven!

My vegan dreams are also now filled with the desserts that fill the display cabinet – beautiful creations that defy convention because they are 100% raw and plant-based as well as decadent, rich and down right yummy. Yes, yummy.

mmmmmm……

That is my professional Vegan Food Quest verdict. I’m still amazed when I taste a raw dessert that is this good and I’m still sad every time I think about the things I didn’t get to try.

Is it unreasonable to consider moving somewhere just to have the opportunity to eat cake every day? I don’t think so…

It don’t think it’ll take many more pictures of all those cakes to make me want to book the next flight and just move right next door to by a freshly made cake each and every day!
