Fusion Resort Nha Trang
UPDATE: Since we stayed at Fusion Resort Nha Trang they’ve renamed as Fusion Resort Cam Ranh, don’t worry you can still expect the same levels of service and delicious and creative vegan and plant based food, the website links below have been amended and so have the contact details.
Fusion Resort Nha Trang is one of those places that you will never want to leave. The design is fresh, breezy, light and calm; step into your villa and you’ll instantly exhale and feel more peaceful.
These aren’t words taken from their marketing department, this is just the effect that it had on us when we checked in for a few days recently and fell in love with this resort; you can get lost in the sea views and the beach is a sweeping stretch of white sand that would be perfect on any postcard, what’s not to love?
The resort is perfectly situated on the Cam Ranh peninsula midway between the airport and Nha Trang, allowing for an easy airport transfer and also the option to take the complimentary shuttle into Nha Trang town if you want (although we never wanted to step foot outside once we arrived).
There are 72 luxuriously appointed villas (all with an ocean view) including those on the ocean front which have direct beach access and private pools, huge suites and family accommodation too. Whichever option you choose, they are all rich with design features including the Fusion signature bath tub (which you can enjoy full of lemongrass, lime and other aromatic herbs as part of a ‘herbal bath treatment’). This is no ordinary hotel with standard fixtures and fittings; everything is a statement here.
Add a huge ocean facing infinity pool and all inclusive wellness and spa treatments from a fantastic team of therapists and you can understand why we fell in love with Fusion Resort Nha Trang.
The spa therapies complement the programme of other daily wellness events such as yoga, meditation and relaxation (also included in the room rate). The quality of the treatments matches that of the rest of this top end luxury resort with options that include traditional deep tissue massage as well as the signature (highly recommended) Chamveda massage which combines Ayurvedic concepts and inspiration from the ancient Cham culture from Vietnam.
The yoga is taught by experienced teachers in the beautiful yoga pavilion (surrounded by a lotus pond) who manage to lead you through a daily class focussing on different chakras (meaning the longer you stay, the more balanced you’ll be). We were nowhere near as bendy as this in the class but we certainly felt in safe hands.
The Vegan Food
The vegan food is not just a plant-based menu of great food made without animal products; it’s offered as part of the all-inclusive spa concept, complementing the wellness classes by focussing on food that supports the areas that are being worked on. It’s healthy, light and fresh with plenty of superfoods, organic produce (where possible) and an effort to source things locally.
At breakfast we drank shots of the daily elixir (expect lavender, chilli, goji berry, turmeric, mint, ginger lemongrass, sweet potato or coconut and cardamom) plus freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices. And there’s no rushing to get to the restaurant in the morning either, as you can order breakfast to be served wherever you want it; poolside vegan feast in your luxury villa to start your day?
We ate traditional Vietnamese options such as vegan pho or noodle salads but it was the pastry chef that really stole our hearts with healthy wholemeal pancakes laced with nutmeg, fluffy waffles and banana walnut muffins.
For lunch and dinner the fresh and healthy options continued. Standout dishes to try include the food-art ‘Local Vegetable Garden’ with beautiful flavours of avocado, mango, subtle chilli and caramelised ginger mixing together with pumpkin, jicama root, fresh coconut and purple basil.
The jackfruit soup was also a favourite; the intense pungent flavour from the ripe jackfruit soup which had hints of banana, melon and mango balanced by the meaty savoury mushroom filled wonton dumpling.
Oh. My. Word.
And there’s no reason not to indulge a little with the delicious ‘Tofu Burger’ which is stuffed with teriyaki mushrooms and glazed in more teriyaki sauce before being lightly fried in breadcrumbs and served on a pumpkin seed bun with a sweet and sour pepper relish.
There were Italian favourites too, including a cheeseless vegan pizza with a tangy rich tomato sauce and slithers of marinated artichoke; light and tasty ravioli and stuffed courgette flowers that were filled with crunchy vegetables before being lightly battered and fried.
Whatever time of day it was, whatever meal we wanted, it was all delicious, healthy and beautifully presented. Quite simply, Fusion Resort Nha Trang creates food to make you feel good.
The Vegan Essentials
There were feather free pillows and bedding available so we could enjoy our bed (and the amazing view from it) even more. The amenities were the Verbena range from luxury brand L’Occitane who do not test their products on animals or use animal based ingredients in any of their products.
The spa has to be one of the most vegan friendly spas we have ever been to. Not only do massages involve the use of pure plant based coconut oil, but the products used for facials are by Natural Rendez Vous, are made made from natural plant-based ingredients and also do not test on animals.
The Vegan Food Quest Verdict
Check in to Fusion Resort Nha Trang for a luxury resort stay where every detail will be focused on your wellness. Vegan meals are integrated into the vegan friendly spa programme; food is healthy and delicious yet can be indulgent too. Whether you want to detox, eat for a healthy vegan lifestyle or just enjoy a variety of traditional Vietnamese or Western favourites; there will be food that you can enjoy.
Don’t forget to book your spa treatments (included in your rate) and try out a yoga class to add that extra emphasis on wellbeing to your luxury stay.
