TIA Wellness Resort
TIA Wellness Resort offers discerning guests a collection of elegant pool villas set along a stunning beach with seemingly never ending South China Sea views. The luxury villas and enviable location are perfectly complemented by an extensive wellness programme and impressive plant based and vegan menu options, ensuring that our return to this slice of paradise was always going to be special. This proved to be exactly the case, as the final stop on our recent Vietnam vegan travel adventure is one we will remember for a very long time. Our ‘Retreat Inclusive’ experience included 140 minutes of retreat therapies and wellness treatments each and every day, alongside a thoughtfully curated plant based meal plan that was creative, nutritious and absolutely delicious. This was a truly special stay at a very vegan friendly luxury resort, where we were impressed on every level.

We stayed in an expansive One Bedroom Private Pool Villa measuring 60 square metres, which offered a spacious, modern and contemporary oasis where we could relax and rejuvenate in between plant based dining, spa treatments and wellness classes. It featured a courtyard garden with a private pool, along with comfortable seating areas both inside and outside for relaxing and reflecting. However, with so many wellness treatments and therapies arranged by our wonderful Wellness Host, and seemingly never-ending plant-based dining options, our time to truly enjoy the villa was limited. First world problems indeed.

The vegan food at TIA Wellness Resort
Our experience as vegans at TIA Wellness Resort was just perfect, as our ‘Retreat Inclusive’ package included a daily vegan menu packed with exciting and nutritious plant-based dishes. This included quite possibly the most vegan friendly buffet breakfast we have ever enjoyed, with clearly labelled items throughout the expansive selection, as well as a ‘Plant Based Boat’ section featuring everything from vegan cheeses and salads with beetroot and watermelon, to cashew butter bliss balls and banana cookies, alongside passion chia puddings and overnight oats. And if that was not enough, the à la carte menu had three vegan options: the Superfood Smoothie Bowl, Avo Power Boost and Banana Choco Pancakes, so of course we tried them all. The scrambled tofu with avocado dish was perfectly seasoned, the caramelised nuts with the banana pancakes were delicious, and the smoothie bowl was healthy, virtuous and oh so tasty, making it impossible to select a favourite.

We were served a trio of pickles with dehydrated crackers before our lunch each day, which were excellent and left us debating which was our favourite. Each of them was fresh, crunchy and flavoursome, with it being impossible to choose between bean sprouts in soy sauce, cabbage in apple cider vinegar and cinnamon spiced cucumber, as they worked so well together. We enjoyed a selection of light and nutritious soups, including a cucumber and lime gazpacho with green peppercorns, topped with fresh herbs and served with edamame and lotus seed. One of our favourites was a simply delightful lime scented steamed asparagus with a cashew, paprika and black sesame crumble, fresh mint leaves and sliced radish. This elegantly plated dish was perfectly executed and an example of how plant based food can not only look good but taste good too. Other dishes included a pumpkin, mushroom and buckwheat risotto with coconut cream and herb pesto, which was both nutritious and flavour packed. This was no ordinary vegan risotto, but a dish that had been carefully considered to not only taste good, but to deliver all of the goodness that you would want from your plant-based main course. Healthy desserts included a rich and decadent tofu chocolate mousse, which was silky smooth, heavenly and protein packed. We could happily eat this every day and were elated when the chef agreed to make it once again on our last day.
For those not on the ‘Wellness Inclusive’ programme and ordering from the à la carte menu, rest assured that The Ocean Bistro menu offers an incredible selection, with more than 50% of dishes being plant-based, including all five of the delightful sounding desserts. Their breakfast menu also features multiple vegan and plant-based options, including Nutty Chocolate French Toast, Scrambled Tofu Sizzle and the Mindful Vegan Breakfast Platter with pumpkin bread, vegan cheeses and homemade jams.

The wellness concept at TIA Wellness Resort
With wellness and relaxation at the heart of everything at TIA Wellness Resort, it was no surprise that the wellness centre was both calming and welcoming. From the beautifully manicured gardens to the inviting wellness pool, and from the treatment rooms to the yoga studio, everything about the wellness centre felt refined and revitalising. As part of the unique ‘Retreat Inclusive’ concept, during our three-day retreat we were able to select 140 minutes of treatments from the extensive menu each day. This allowed us to enjoy a selection of massages, facials, manicures and pedicures during our stay, each delivered with a gentle and healing touch. There were also additional classes available, including breath work, vinyasa flow and hatha yoga. The wellness philosophy at TIA Wellness Resort supports “deep relaxation, emotional balance, and creative self expression through therapies designed to restore both body and mind”, and by the end of our stay we would have to agree that this philosophy is most certainly a reality that we experienced.

The vegan essentials at TIA Wellness Resort
We loved the tropical fruit platter, vegan truffles and herbal tea waiting for us in our villa upon arrival, along with the mini bar which featured detox water, herbal tea and healthy snacks, all of which were complimentary. Bathroom amenities were from the 100% vegan brand Appelles Apothecary, presented in planet friendly refillable ceramic dispensers, while drinking water was offered in recyclable glass bottles, which is also slowly becoming the norm as the hospitality industry finally addresses the environmental impact of relying on single-use plastic. The infinity swimming pool overlooking the white sand beach was perfect for early morning laps or cooling down at the end of the day, whilst the gym looked impressive from the outside, although we never managed to venture through its doors during our stay.

The Vegan Food Quest Verdict
This luxury wellness resort is Vegan friendly with a capital V. The sheer range of plant-based options and the quality of everything we tried was seriously impressive, ranking it as one of the best we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Combine this with the oceanfront location, modern and stylish villas, a friendly staff team, and spa therapists who have clearly undergone extensive professional training, and you have one of the best vegan-friendly luxury wellness resorts in the region. We would love to return to continue exploring the extensive spa menu, as well as to enjoy the plant-based dishes from the a la carte menus that we did not manage to try during our most recent trip.
We were guests of TIA Wellness Resort but please rest assured that their generosity in hosting us didn’t influence our views.
