Manila Marriott Hotel

The Manila Marriott Hotel is the perfect choice for an airport layover as it is located just 5 minutes from Ninoy Aquino International Airport; with the brand new ‘Marriott West Wing’ offering a further 228 rooms and suites, taking the total number in excess of 550, the Manila Marriott offers you an unparalleled choice in a fast paced and vibrant city.

There is a complimentary airport shuttle for all guests, or if you prefer a private car will be waiting to whisk you straight to the hotel where check in was both swift and seamless, exactly what is required after a long flight.

During your time at this luxury hotel you can book a spa treatment, head to the gym, play a round of golf or relax by the pool to ensure that you make the most of your stay at Manila Marriott.

Being part of Resorts World Manila and having multiple dining outlets of their own means that all of your culinary tastes can be catered for; however, we were keen to know how we would get on as vegan guests during our airport layover…

The Vegan Food

Our stay was short but we found time to sample both room service and buffet breakfast, which is served at ‘Marriott Cafe’ daily from 6am.

As you would imagine from a hotel of this scale the breakfast buffet was extensive and was offered alongside an a la carte menu.

We enjoyed the usual juices, fresh fruits and coffee but were also able to find various buffet items that were suitable for vegans, in addition, the helpful staff were happy to create ‘off menu’ items especially for us.

The room service menu was extremely limited for vegan guests but again, the staff were fantastic in listening and understanding our requests; they confirmed the pasta was wheat pasta and the tomato sauce was free from animal ingredients, that the smoothies could be made without milk and also that the dipping sauce served with the spring rolls was vegan friendly.

Within 20 minutes of our order we were enjoying freshly made smoothies, a huge bowl of flavoursome pasta and delicious fried spring rolls.

The Vegan Essentials

We were able to select feather free pillows for the bed in our executive Suite and they were delivered and change very quickly and we were also very pleased to find Thann products in the bathroom; this Thai spa brand is free from animal ingredients and do not test on animals making them vegan friendly.

The Vegan Food Quest Verdict

It would have been good to stay longer as no sooner had we started to relax it was time to leave but we would have to say that Manila Marriott offered a perfect airport layover; we included this hotel in our article for ‘A Luxury Travel Blog’ entitled ‘5 perfect Asian hotels for an airport layover’.
