Westin Singapore

Do you love a modern, hi-tech city centre hotel with killer views and passionate chefs who understand veganism and make great tasting, healthy vegan food?

We do and that is the reason we loved Westin Singapore which is located in the heart of the Central Business District.

The Vegan Food

One of the reasons why the food at The Westin is so vegan friendly is they offer a SuperFoodsRx diet menu, which basically involves the use of 25 health giving superfoods (21 of which are vegan).

Breakfast, served in the hotel’s signature restaurant ‘Seasonal Tastes’, was full of opportunities to eat healthy plant-based food. There were some standard buffet options but the real vegan magic was found on the à la carte menu.

But whatever you do, don’t leave before trying the vegan Rösti, a dish specially designed by The Westin’s Junior Sous Chef, Gary Lim, using grated sweet potato, onions and mushrooms, sautéed in olive oil and flavoured generously with fresh thyme and parsley, Chef Gary’s creation was a real vegan delight.

Vitamin A, B6, C, D, iron, magnesium, potassium, beta carotene and heart-healthy monounsaturated fats never tasted so good!

At lunch, Singaporean locals flock to ‘Seasonal Tastes’ creating a warm and lively atmosphere. We joined them and ate flavour rich mushroom soup drizzled in aromatic truffle oil with crusty vegan bread slices plunged in.

Ticking off another vegan superfood for the day, we tested out The Westin vegan ‘Tofu Burger’.

Adorned with a stack of tempura battered onions rings, fresh salad and a soft white sesame seeded bun, this vegan burger had all the credentials to make it in to our Vegan Food Quest Burger Hall Of Fame.

We also enjoyed a perfectly seasoned barley risotto and ontinuing with our healthy superfood extravaganza, our dessert was a ‘Fruit Soup’, sweetened with maple syrup and flavoured with fresh mint.

The Vegan Essentials

The bed was made with feather and non-feather pillows so it was easy for us to quickly select our animal-free option to sleep with, the amenities in our bathroom weren’t vegan as we could identify ingredients that were animal-derived from the list on the packaging.

The spa offers a tranquil oasis of calm, with The Westin signature scented Experience shower, peaceful treatment rooms and relaxation rooms all set up to soothe the senses, there were a range of products from Thèmaè who confirm that they do not use animal testing and a lot of their range is vegan (just look out for ingredients like honey).

The Vegan Food Quest Verdict

Check-in here if you want a city centre stay in a modern hotel where you can fill up on vegan superfoods as you sit back and enjoy the awesome views.

You’ll be in safe hands with The Westin chefs who have a dedicated team member to help guests with special dietary needs meaning you can have total confidence that the food you are eating is 100% plant based (and 100% delicious).
