This is part of the OZO brand marketing and OZO Colombo certainly delivers this and more; the rooms are modern and well appointed whilst the public areas showcase local art and imagery and these elements blend to present a very nice product.

ON14 is the rooftop bar (complete with pool) which has fast become a cool hangout for guests and local alike, we enjoyed evening cocktails with friends whilst marvelling at the incredible sunset unfolding in front of us.

The Vegan Food

The breakfast from EAT2GO was included in our room rate and was more than adequate for vegans, there was plenty to choose from and staff were able to answer necessary questions about ingredients.

As well as the traditional Sri Lankan staples for breakfast there was a selection of fresh juices and fresh fruits to enjoy each day; also, a well stocked salad bar including roasted vegetables and chickpeas for that extra protein hit!

We love Marmite and nothing please us more than a hotel with both Marmite and a vegan butter alternative, thank you OZO Colombo, but not only do we love Marmite (and never leave home without it) but it provides a rich source of B12 for vegans.

The Vegan Essentials

Our bed had non feather pillows and non feather duvet which provided a comfortable sleep free from the use of animal products yet we were unable to ascertain whether the in house bathroom amenities were suitable for vegans.

The Vegan Food Quest Verdict

Great views, great breakfast and great cocktails from the rooftop bar make OZO Colombo well worth a visit next time you visit Sri Lanka; the location, although a little out of the town centre offers multiple local vegetarian restaurants within walking distance which you can read more about here in our Vegan Guide to Colombo.
