Centara Resort Trat
Looking for a hidden gem where you get to experience peaceful white sand beaches in Thailand at the height of the high season? Look no further than Centara Resort Trat where the sunsets are dreamy, the beach is pristine and relaxation is guaranteed. This intimate tropical resort, surrounded by lush tropical gardens is set right on a beach that stretches as far as you can see in both directions but with none of the bars, hotels and restaurants and crowds that go hand in hand with some of Thailand’s busier tourist destinations.
Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with lovely views, ours had a sea view through the swaying palms, a separate living room, huge balcony and all the amenities you’d expect, it offered a lot of privacy and a real sense of peace and quiet with only the birdsong to make us realize we weren’t alone.
Spend days on the beach in the warm sea or poolside (which still has those stunning sea views), not forgetting to grab some time daydreaming from a rustic swing hung right next to the water.

The Vegan Food
Our first experience of the vegan food at Centara Resort Trat was taking the cooking class which was held on the patio outside the main restaurant, right next to the beach. The chef had prepared all the ingredients we’d need to make 4 classic Thai dishes, veganised of course, and together we made a small banquet which we enjoyed as the sun set over the sea in the background. It was kind of like having a seat at an interactive, al fresco chef’s table as chef was always on hand to make sure our food was going to turn out as delicious as if he’d cooked it in his own kitchen.
A highly recommended experience.

Breakfast is served in Azure, the open air restaurant next to the beach and with a little bit of help fron the staff team we had plenty of vegan options, the usual tea, coffee, fresh juices and fruit or salad selections were available along with bread that was suitable for vegans and some of the tastiest jam we’ve ever had, homemade from golden Trat pineapples it was simply divine.
The team at Centara Resort Trat prepared a selection of vegan food and served it to our al fresco table, we enjoyed cashew fried rice, stir fried morning glory, vegan pad Thai and TVP (textured vegetable protein) in a sweet chilli sauce with vegetables, whilst staying here you ceratinly won’t go hungry!

The Vegan Essentials
Our super comfortable bed at Centara Resort Trat had pillows and bedding that were already feather free which receives top marks from us.
Amenities in the bathroom were from the Centara own brand so we weren’t able to tell if they were vegan or not as there was no ingredients list meaning we used our own.
There was a place for massages right on the deserted beach so guests at Centara Resort Trat can get a famous Thai massage whilst still listening to the ocean waves, total perfection.
The Vegan Food Quest Verdict
Perfect option for those heading out to the islands or crossing the Thailand / Cambodia border which is nearby. Make a reservation here to relax on an often deserted beach before continuing your onward journey safe in the knowledge the staff will ensure your stay is pleasureable and the chef and his team are more than happy to create ‘off menu’ vegan meals just for you upon request.

We were guests of Centara Resort Trat but please rest assured that their generosity in hosting us didn’t influence our views
